PRP Treatment for Hair Loss

A natural solution to fight hair loss.

What is PRP Treatment Hair Loss?

Platelet rich plasma, commonly referred to as PRP, is a treatment where blood is drawn, similar to a routine blood test, then prepared to produce a concentration of platelets.

These platelets contain growth factors that have been shown to strengthen hair and prevent hair thinning and hair loss. Your PRP is then injected into your scalp using a special device in order to stimulate hair regrowth and hair quality.

PRP treatment for hair restoration is for clients suffering from mild to moderate hair loss or receding hairline.  Treatment usually requires three to four sessions at two to four week intervals.

The entire procedure of a PRP treatment for hair loss prevention and hair restoration will usually take about 30 to 45 minutes.

FAQs

Does PRP cure baldness?

PRP is not a hair restoration treatment for baldness, but for improving hair thickness. Activated platelets and growth factors found in blood plasma stimulate the regrowth of the follicular bulb (hair root), thereby reversing the miniaturization of hair follicles that is associated with hair loss. As a result of the treatment, hair is expected to become thicker and healthier.

What kind of results can I expect for hair thickening?

On average, hair regrowth density of 25 to 30% can be expected, but results will vary as a function of the ability of the follicular bulb to regenerate in each individual. All progress is photographically tracked and reviewed together.

In one study, results showed a significant increase in the rate of hair growth observed between the third and sixth months. Hair density followed a rising trend with a peak at 3 months. Patients with II-III grade of alopecia had better results compared to patients with more advanced alopecia.1
