PRP Treatments for Skin Rejuvenation

Rejuvenate your skin with your own natural elements.

What is PRP Therapy?

Platelet rich plasma, commonly referred to as PRP is a treatment where blood is drawn, similar to a routine blood test, then prepared to produce a concentration of platelets. These platelets contain concentrations of growth factors and nutrients that have been shown to help stimulate collagen remodeling and improve skin quality and texture.

There are a wide range of PRP treatment options depending on your needs. These include facial rejuvenation treatments such as PRP with microneedling, PRP with fractional laser treatments, PRP with dermal fillers, and direct injection of PRP. There are also treatments for the scalp with PRP for strengthening hair and preventing hair thinning and loss.

Since PRP is derived from your own blood, there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction or rejection, and this is considered by many to be the most “natural” injection to enhance the radiance of the skin.

Get Started

How long does a PRP treatment take?

Many PRP treatments are added to existing treatments protocols including microneedling, fractional laser treatments, and dermal fillers in order to enhance their results. In these cases, it may add approximately ten to twenty minutes to the treatment. When PRP injections alone are performed to the face or scalp, the whole process and treatment can take 30 to 45 minutes.

Does it hurt?

For some treatments, prior to injecting PRP, local anesthesia or numbing cream may be used for sensitive clients. There is no pain following treatment and no recovery time.

How much do PRP treatments cost?

PRP treatment for facial rejuvenation can start at $600 and vary depending on the number of treatments and area treated.

How soon can I see results?

For all treatments, results are progressively seen in the weeks following treatment.

Is it safe?

Since PRP is derived from your own blood, there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction or rejection, and this is considered by many to be the most “natural” injection to enhance the radiance of the skin.

FAQs

Why should PRP be added to dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers provide an instant fill or volume correction for clients. PRP injected above dermal filler can immediately begin a skin regeneration process so that clients can see and feel the effects within minutes as their skin becomes tauter and smoother.

The use of PRP with fillers can enhance skin tone and texture as well as prolong the effect of filler correction for several months longer than when fillers are used alone.

Do PRP injections without dermal filler provide skin rejuvenation benefits?

Patients who don’t want or need fillers can still benefit from PRP.  The activated PRP serum can be injected just under the skin surface to stimulate the body to make a small amount of its own “filler”. Although this will not provide the same type of result you would get from a dermal filler, clients still see improved textural changes.

Why add PRP to microneedling or fractional laser treatments?

Microneedling and fractional laser treatments are known for their ability to retexture skin. The micro-holes in the skin opened up by these treatments allow applied PRP to penetrate deeper into the skin and also can accelerate the healing and increase new collagen formation.

Can PRP prevent or cure baldness?

PRP is not a hair restoration treatment for baldness, but for improving hair thickness. Activated platelets and growth factors found in blood plasma stimulate the regrowth of the follicular bulb (hair root), thereby reversing the miniaturization of hair follicles that is associated with hair loss. As a result of the treatment, hair is expected to become thicker and healthier. Visit this section of our Web site for more information.
