Forever Clear BBL™, or BroadBandLight, is powerful Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology. It harnesses light energy to penetrate and treat the skin to stimulate and regenerate skin cell growth. BroadBand light acne therapy’s intense pulses delivers clear, healthy, and radiant skin. At Victoria Park Medispa, we combine a unique four-step Forever Clear BBL™ protocol with a special anti-inflammatory peel. This helps treat acne-causing bacteria that can cause blackheads and breakouts, and increase cellular turnover to keep skin clear.

BEFORE THE TREATMENT

They will decide whether or not light therapy designed to target and improve acne is right for you based on your skin type and aspirations.

DURING THE TREATMENT

Forever Clear BBL™ is a non-surgical and non-invasive acne treatment. “Gentle” is sometimes how our patients describe it. As the light is applied, most patients claim to feel nothing more than minimal discomfort. Keep in mind, this can vary from one patient to the next. Most patients liken the feeling to a slight stinging sensation. The procedure takes, on average, 45 to 60 minutes to treat, depending on the size of the area. We recommend a sequence of four treatments that are 1-week apart.

After THE TREATMENT

Forever Clear BBL™ is an acne treatment with a quick recovery period. Following treatment, you may notice your skin is a little red or flushed. That should fade in a few hours’ time. Generally, you can expect your skin to start looking renewed and rejuvenated in roughly a month post-treatment. Your skin will look worse before it gets better, as acne is “purged” from the skin.

When can I return to work/resume normal activities after my Forever Clear BBL™ treatment?

Forever Clear BBL™ professional acne treatments are designed to provide little downtime. The treated area may appear red or flushed, which fades within a few hours. Acne will get worse after the first couple of sessions before it gets better as the skin purges bacteria and future acne lesions.

We recommend waiting at least 24 hours before applying makeup. Patients may develop slight temporary swelling for a few days, especially if being treated around the eyes.

How soon can I see results? 

Some clients begin to see results within a month following their treatment. Usually, results progressively improve through the series of treatments. Patients then usually come in for maintenance treatments a few times a year.

What makes Forever Clear BBL™a great treatment for post-partum women?

Hormonal changes during and after childbirth are common. For some women, this means postpartum acne. It can last longer if you are breastfeeding. If your hormonal acne lingers, there are solutions for you, such as Forever Clear BBL™. How long do I need to wait following childbirth to begin Forever Clear BBL™ treatments? Do I need to be done breastfeeding?

Normally, we suggest waiting a minimum of six months post-partum before proceeding with Forever Clear BBL™ treatments. It’s important to give the body ample time to recover following childbirth. Breastfeeding is a contraindication for Forever Clear BBL™. We recommend booking your consultation once you’ve stopped completely. If you’re unsure, check with your doctor to find out more about safe acne treatments during pregnancy and post-pregnancy.
