Hyperpigmentation is the over-production of melanin in the skin and it is triggered by factors like sun exposure, hormonal changes, inflammation, or even injuries. After testing out various methods, we know that fractional laser delivers the most promising results for treating these particular skin conditions. Fractional laser treatments with our Halo, Fraxel or CO2 fractional lasers, successfully resurface damaged skin to bring out new skin, undamaged by acne scarring.  In addition, fractional laser treatments can also be used to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation.

Using state-of-the-art laser technology, a fractional laser skin resurfacing creates microscopic holes in your skin and then your body takes care of the rest. A Victoria Park Medispa expert will pierce barely visible thermal holes into the skin, without destroying surrounding tissue while remodeling your skin’s collagen.

BEFORE THE TREATMENT

While skin resurfacing fractional laser might be one of the best remedies for skin texture—is it right for you? There’s only one way to know. Book a consultation with a Victoria Park Medispa expert. At your appointment, your expert will determine whether fractional laser treatments are a suitable option for treating your skin-related conditions.

DURING THE TREATMENT

Fractional laser skin resurfacing works by creating microscopic entries in your skin—then letting your body handle the rest.Your Victoria Park Medispa expert will create tiny, thermal incisions without destroying surrounding tissue. This allows the affected area to heal quickly, and remodel your skin’s collagen. The lasers, meanwhile, stimulate a natural healing process from the inside out, fading uneven skin tone or texture. The damaged skin tissue gets replaced with younger, smoother, and healthier-looking skin.

After THE TREATMENT

Multiple treatments are scheduled about two or three weeks apart. Between treatments, clients need to avoid sun exposure. For the most part, recovery time for laser skin treatments is fairly minimal. With fractional laser skin surfacing and facial rejuvenation treatments, you can expect roughly three to seven days of a sunburn-like redness. Once your body begins to heal, this phase will be followed by the exfoliation of dead skin.

Related Conditions

We recommend skin resurfacing fractional lasers for those seeking an effective way to achieve a more even skin tone and address deeply embedded skin conditions.

FAQ

Got questions about Fractional Laser treatment? We’ve got answers!

Will I be able to work during my downtime?

A fractional laser treatment is our only laser treatment with significant downtime. For four to seven days following treatment, you will look like you have a sunburn as your old skin shed and your new skin comes through. We have photos we can show you during consultation that show the typical progression of recovery.

There is nothing preventing you from working, but many clients choose to work from home or take a vacation week during their recovery period.

What’s the difference between Fraxel, Halo, AND Co2 lasers?

CO2 fractional lasers are known as ablative lasers that go deeper into the dermis whereas Fraxel is known as an ebrium that penetrates less deeply. Italo is a hybrid laser that can be set to do both.

CO2 fractional lasers can have a bigger impact but has more downtime. These ablative fractional treatments are used for more serious skin rejuvenation issues or for clients that don’t mind longer downtime with fewer treatments.

What conditions can be treated with fractional lasers?

Fractional lasers is one of the more extremely effective texture improvement options available on the market. For anyone looking to reduce the appearance of apparent acne scars or wondering about the best treatment for sun damage, we say look no further than the power of laser collagen stimulation therapy. Beyond that, fractional skin resurfacing in Montreal treats the following concerns:

  • Acne scars
  • Facial scar reduction
  • Mild to moderate scars
  • Fine lines around the eyes
  • Surgical scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Age spots, sun damage, brown spots and general pigmentation
  • Melasma and actinic keratoses
  • Minimizing facial pores
  • Loss of skin firmness
  • Rough skin surface

What makes a fractional laser a great non-surgical mommy makeover treatment?

When it comes to scars due to a caesarean section following childbirth (also known as a C-section), Fractional Lasers such as C02 can really help soften and eliminate their appearance. Fractional lasers provide a more in-depth treatment of the dermis. Unlike the cells in the superficial layers of the skin that are constantly replacing themselves through exfoliation, an intervention such as a fractional laser is one of the only ways to treat dermal scars.

How long do I need to wait following childbirth to begin fractional laser treatments and do I need to be done breastfeeding?

We recommend treating C-section scars as early as possible, followed by a fractional laser if needed at six months postpartum. Breastfeeding is a contraindication for fractional laser. We recommend booking your consultation once you’ve stopped completely.
