Photorejuvenation with BBL HERO®

Non-invasive solution
A 10-minute treatment to look up to 10 years younger

Your skin’s appearance can be influenced by many factors, including aging, acne, and sun damage. Understanding how to improve your skin’s texture can feel overwhelming. That’s where our BBL broadband light therapy treatments come in.

Introducing BBL HERO®, the next era of our beloved Forever Young BBL®. Not to be confused with other forms of BBL that you may have heard about in the media, our BBL HERO® treatments stand for High Energy Rapid Output. This is an advanced photo rejuvenation treatment that uses broadband light to treat redness and reduce pigmentation, among other common conditions. This has four times the speed, three times the power and two times the cooling properties than any other IPL treatment in the market. The result? We can treat large areas for redness and pigmented lesions while enhancing the collagen production of the skin with more precision, in a fraction of the time, and more comfortably.

As one of Victoria Park Medispa’s most in-demand anti-aging skin treatments, BBL HERO® can leave you looking up to 10 years younger. This is an innovative treatment that builds on the advanced photorejuvenation technology made popular by our star treatment, Forever Young BBL®, which uses broadband light to rejuvenate the skin at a cellular level. This is how it effectively reduces pigmentation—including hard-to-erase brown spots, redness, and pigmentation—revealing a clearer, more youthful complexion.

Technology

A remarkably swift treatment that delivers positive results. BBL HERO® is a game-changer, your skin’s life-saver. The treatment works by emitting light faster than anything else currently available on the market—it’s four times faster, three times stronger, and twice the cooling effect of IPL. For context, the typical IPL machine takes up to one second apiece for a pulse or light flash whereas BBL HERO® pulses take as few as three milliseconds. This means a single treatment emits roughly 1,200 to 1,500 pulses versus only 250 to 350 pulses with the typical treatment. This means you benefit from seeing results faster than ever before.

Before the treatment

Looking for ways to reduce sun damage on your body skin, or get rid of age spots? Want to diminish the appearance of lingering acne scars and reveal a younger-looking complexion? The best way to know if BBL HERO® is right for you is by booking a consultation with one of our Victoria Park Medispa experts. At your appointment, they will assess your skin needs based on your aspirations and determine a course of treatment best-suited for you.

During THE TREATMENT

Our patients rave about how quickly BBL HERO® takes effect. In fact, it’s four times as fast as traditional BBL treatments—we can treat your entire back in under 10 minutes, for example. And you won’t feel much: most patients describe the sensation as feeling somewhat similar to the light snapping of an elastic band against the skin. We normally recommend undergoing three treatments, spaced about four weeks apart.

After THE TREATMENT

Many patients will notice the temporary deepening of existing brown spots, some moderate redness and swelling in the first 48 hours after treatment and for up to 7 days and microcrusting between 5 and 21 days.

Results generally start to appear in the first few days after the initial treatment session, and progress after every treatment.

FAQ

What areas can be treated with Forever Young BBL® and BBL HERO®?

Forever Young BBL treats the face, neck, or décolleté. BBL HERO®, on the other hand, targets larger areas of the body, such as arms, back, hands and more.

How quickly can I expect to see results?

Results are visible a few days after your first session. Expect to see things improve progressively after each treatment. Some studies[1] show that patients who have undergone a regular process of BBL treatments look ten years younger. For patients seeking these kinds of results, we often recommend our Forever Young BBL corrective program. This includes one treatment per month for a total of three sessions. For maintenance purposes, we offer a BBL for Life program for one and two years, offering up to 30% and 50% in savings, respectively.

What types of hyperpigmentation can the treatment correct?

Broadband light therapy for skin can treat sunspots, sun damage, post-inflammatory spots, and freckles. It’s also a solution for facial redness, including diffusing redness (erythema) and visible blood vessels on the skin. It also stimulates collagen and elastin production, which give the skin its radiance and tone. Unfortunately, we cannot treat melasma with BBL. However, we do offer several other solutions that can—find out more by booking a consultation with a Victoria Park Medispa expert.

How does Forever Young BBL® correct pigmentation spots?

BBL is based on a technology called “selective photothermolysis”. It consists of emitting a pulsed light through the BBL handpiece, which is absorbed by melanin (responsible for brown spots) and oxyhemoglobin (responsible for the redness and blood vessels visible in the skin). When a brown spot is targeted and absorbs the light, the heat generated destroys the melanin in that area without damaging the surrounding tissue. The melanin in the brown spot is then eliminated by the body’s natural processes. We are also able to treat the skin’s collagen and elastin, which are stimulated to create new, stronger cells.

How is BBL HERO® technology different from “regular” IPL (intense pulsed light)?

BBL HERO® is an advanced non-surgical skin rejuvenation option based off the Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment. Victoria Park Medispa was one of the first medical aesthetics provider in Canada to use IPL technology, before evolving to the BBL HERO. BBL HERO offers the ability to treat multiple skin conditions with a single handpiece (wavelengths of light) to target different depths of the skin. This allows you to customize your treatment according to your needs and indications. Traditional Intense Pulsed Light typically has one or two wavelengths, which limits the ability to customize the treatment and address the areas you want to improve.

BBL HERO also allows you to receive multiple passes of light with these different wavelengths (maximum of six passes). Therefore, technicians can slowly heat the skin and target layers of skin one at a time depending on the desired results. IPL allows only two or three passes maximum, with the same wavelength and without the customization that can be obtained with BBL HERO. BBL HERO is therefore more comfortable and much more adapted to your skin’s needs.
