FAQ

Got questions about sweat reduction? We’ve got your answers here.

Is hyperhidrosis therapy safe?

Yes. The use of BOTOXⓇ for treatment of excessive sweating is safe, and has been approved for use by Health Canada.

Where does the sweat go?

With BOTOX hyperhidrosis treatments, many of our patients are surprised to learn that the sweat doesn’t return back into the body or get backed up. Simply put, this treatment makes it so that your body isn’t producing excessive amounts of sweat. It works by temporarily intercepting the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate sweat glands. When the sweat glands no longer receive chemical signals, it reduces sweat production.

Why do my feet sweat excessively?

If you find that you’re experiencing excessive sweating in your feet, this is a condition known as plantar hyperhidrosis. Sometimes caused by extreme stress, extreme foot sweat can hinder athletic performance.

Do natural remedies for sweaty palms work?

Some drugstore antiperspirants and other products claim to work for extreme sweating, but only a non-surgical sweat reduction solution actually treats the cause from within.
