Radiesse® Treatment

Non-invasive solution

Losing definition in your cheeks or jawline? Noticing deeper smile lines or a general deflation in facial volume? As we age, collagen production slows and facial structure begins to shift—leaving behind sagging, folds, and hollowness that can make us look more tired or aged than we feel. While many fillers offer temporary volume, Radiesse® does more: it restores structure and stimulates your skin’s own collagen for results that last and evolve naturally over time.

Radiesse® is an injectable dermal filler that not only provides immediate volume and contour, but also acts as a biostimulator, encouraging your skin to rebuild its own collagen. It’s ideal for areas that need structure and lift, such as the jawline, cheeks, chin, and deep nasolabial folds. Radiesse delivers both instant definition and long-term improvement, helping restore a firm, youthful facial contour without surgery.
What Is Radiesse®?

Radiesse® is an injectable dermal filler that not only provides immediate volume and contour, but also acts as a biostimulator, encouraging your skin to rebuild its own collagen. It’s ideal for areas that need structure and lift, such as the jawline, cheeks, chin, and deep nasolabial folds. Radiesse delivers both instant definition and long-term improvement, helping restore a firm, youthful facial contour without surgery.

Technology

Radiesse® is made of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a smooth gel. The gel provides immediate lift, while the microspheres work over time to trigger natural collagen production. At Victoria Park Medispa, our expert injectors use Radiesse® for facial contouring and also for skin rejuvenation in areas like the neck and hands (when hyperdiluted). The result? A smoother, firmer, more sculpted look that’s still entirely your own.

BEFORE THE TREATMENT

Before your Radiesse® appointment, your provider will conduct a facial assessment to understand your volume loss, skin laxity, and treatment goals. You’ll discuss the ideal injection points, such as the jawline, cheeks, chin, or hands, and build a personalized plan. To reduce the risk of bruising, it’s recommended to avoid blood thinners, alcohol, and anti-inflammatory medications for 3–5 days leading up to your session.

DURING THE TREATMENT

Radiesse® treatments typically take 30–45 minutes. After cleansing the treatment area, a topical numbing cream or local anesthetic is applied for comfort. Using a fine needle or cannula, your provider will carefully inject Radiesse beneath the skin, sculpting areas that need volume or definition. You’ll notice immediate improvement in contour and lift, with continued collagen stimulation over time.

After THE TREATMENT

You may experience mild swelling, tenderness, or redness at the injection sites, which usually subsides within a few days. Some bruising is possible, but most clients return to normal activities right after treatment. As the calcium-based microspheres begin stimulating collagen, results continue to improve over several weeks. Final outcomes can last 12–18 months, depending on the area treated and your skin’s response.

FAQ

Got questions about Radiesse®? We’ve got your answers here

How much does Radiesse® cost?

The cost of Radiesse® varies based on the number of syringes used and the treatment area. Your provider will review personalized pricing during your consultation.

What are the common treatment areas for Radiesse®?

Common treatment areas for Radiesse® include the cheeks and mid-face, chin and jawline, marionette lines and smile folds, and the backs of the hands. In its hyperdiluted form, Radiesse is also used to improve skin tone and firmness in the neck and decolletage.

How long does Radiesse® last?

Radiesse® provides immediate volume and continues to stimulate collagen production over time. Most clients enjoy results that last 12 to 18 months, depending on the treatment area and individual metabolism.

What is Radiesse® made of?

Radiesse® is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a smooth gel. CaHA is a biocompatible substance similar to minerals found naturally in your bones and teeth.

Is Radiesse® a biostimulator?

Yes. Radiesse® is not just a filler, it also acts as a biostimulatory agent, encouraging your body to produce its own natural collagen for long-term skin improvement.

Can Radiesse® be dissolved?

Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Radiesse® cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. However, any issues are very rare when injected properly by an experienced provider.

Can Radiesse® be used in lips?

No. Radiesse® is not recommended for use in the lips because of its firmer consistency and longevity. Softer hyaluronic acid fillers are better suited for this delicate area.

Can Radiesse® be used under eyes?

Radiesse® is generally not used under the eyes, as it may be too dense for the thin skin in that area. Other fillers with a softer texture are typically preferred for tear trough treatments.

Can Radiesse® cause lumps?

Lumps or nodules are rare but possible with any injectable filler. Choosing a skilled provider who uses proper technique greatly reduces this risk. Any mild irregularities often resolve naturally over time.

Can Radiesse® migrate?

Radiesse® has a low risk of migration when injected correctly. Its firmer consistency helps it stay in place, especially in structural areas like the jawline and cheeks.

Can you use Sculptra and Radiesse® together?

Yes, in some cases, Radiesse® and Sculptra can be used together, though not in the same area during the same session. Your provider can design a treatment plan tailored to your skin’s needs and timeline.

Does Radiesse® build collagen?

Yes. One of the main benefits of Radiesse® is that it stimulates your own natural collagen production, leading to firmer, more resilient skin over time.

Does Radiesse® hurt?

Discomfort is minimal. A topical numbing agent may be applied before you Radiesse® treatment to ensure a comfortable experience.

Is Radiesse® better than Sculptra?

It depends on your goals. Radiesse offers immediate volume and collagen stimulation, while Sculptra works more gradually over time. Both are effective biostimulators with different strengths depending on the treatment area and timeline.

Is Radiesse® hyaluronic acid?

No. Radiesse® is not a hyaluronic acid filler. It is made from calcium-based microspheres and offers both volumizing and collagen-boosting effects.

Is Radiesse® permanent?

Radiesse® is long-lasting but not permanent. The gel is gradually absorbed and replaced by your own collagen, with results typically lasting over a year.

Should you massage Radiesse®?

In most cases, no massage is needed unless directed by your provider. Radiesse® is designed to stay in place, and unnecessary manipulation could affect its placement.
