Achieving red carpet-worthy results doesn’t take much. Most soft tissue fillers like dermal fillers require minimal supplies to administer. Prior to injection, we will thoroughly cleanse and disinfect the injection site using medical-grade sanitizing solutions. If you’re sensitive to pain, we will also apply a topical anesthetic at your request. The procedure itself is relatively straightforward. Once you’re ready, your Victoria Park Medispa expert will carefully inject product into the treatment area, lightly injecting the product just below the surface of the skin. Beyond syringes or cannulas for administration, no surgical instruments are used throughout the entire process.

DURING THE TREATMENT

Dermal filler injection treatments typically only last around fifteen to thirty minutes to administer, depending on the scope of the area needing treatment. Overall, most patients say the procedure is relatively pain-free. The majority are able to resume daily activities shortly after their appointment.

After THE TREATMENT

Dermal filler injections can result in some minor swelling or redness in the hours post-treatment. Normally, our patients can expect to see results from their dermal filler treatment almost immediately. While results vary, the majority of patients can expect their treatment to last anywhere from eight to eighteen months.

What are the types of dermal fillers?

From collagen-based to hyaluronic, there are various soft tissue fillers available today, many of which use either synthetic or substances naturally produced by the human body. Below are three of the most common solutions your Victoria Park Medispa experts might recommend.

1- Hyaluronic acid: Produced by the body and often found on labels of your favourite skin care treatment, we use hyaluronic acid-based fillers to provide the effect of a more hydrated and plump look.

2- Calcium hydroxylapatite fillers: These types of fillers are formulated using a substance found in our bones, often for deeper wrinkles. Calcium-derived fillers can often last for up to a year.

3- Poly-L-lactic acid: This rebuilds structure and volume by stimulating your body’s collagen production process. It’s the compound present in treatments like SculptraⓇ.

What is the recovery time after getting dermal fillers?

Downtime is minimal with dermal filler treatments. Most patients are able to get back to their normal routines a day or two following treatment. Though minimally-invasive, remember that any form of injectable filler can still cause minor swelling or bruising.

It’s totally normal to experience minor swelling or bruising at the site of injection in the hours or days following your dermal filler procedure.
