DR. SANDY SKOTNICKI DERMATOLOGIST IN TORONTO

Dr. Skotnicki is a dermatologist and a member of the Canadian Medical Association, the Canadian Dermatology Association, the American Dermatology Association, and the American Contact Dermatitis Society.

After receving her undergraduate degree in microbiology and immunology from the University of Toronto and graduated Alpha Omega Alpha from the university’s medical program, she went on to complete her dermatology training at the University of Ottawa and was awarded her dermatology fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in June 1997. She is a board member of the Canadian Dermatology Association and an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons for candidates specializing in dermatology.

Dr. Skotnicki has been practising in the Toronto area since 1997 and is known among her clients for being caring, gentle, and always abreast of the latest dermatology research and technologies. A leading expert in allergic skin disease, she is one of a handful of dermatologists in Canada with a subspecialty in allergic contact dermatitis and patch or allergy skin testing.

Active in research and education, Dr. Skotnicki has been teaching University of Toronto dermatology, allergy, and family medicine residents at her St. Michael’s Hospital clinic since 1999. She is also a member of the Centre for Research Expertise in Occupational Disease (CREOD) and has published articles on various aspects of allergic skin disease.

Dr. Skotnicki has appeared on Global News, Breakfast TV, ET Canada, City TV, and CBC Radio. She has been quoted by publications such as Flare, Elle Canada, Toronto Life Fashion, Chatelaine, Toronto Star, and The Globe and Mail, but is best known for her book Beyond Soap, co-authored with Christopher Shulgan. Her expertise in personal skincare and BBL treatments was recently recognized by The Guardian, where she was quoted as an authority.
