Treatment for Hair Loss

A natural solution to fight hair loss.

What is a treatment for Hair Loss?

At Victoria Park Medispa, a treatment for hair loss involves the delivery and stimulation of growth factors directly at the site of hair loss. This is accomplished by drawing blood, similarly to a routine blood test, which is then prepared to produce a concentration of platelets.

These platelets contain growth factors that have been shown to strengthen hair and prevent hair thinning and hair loss. They are then injected into your scalp using a special device in order to stimulate hair regrowth and hair quality.

This hair restoration treatment is for clients suffering from mild to moderate hair loss or receding hairline. Treatment usually requires four sessions at intervals of two weeks.

The entire procedure for hair loss prevention and hair restoration will usually take about 30 to 45 minutes.

FAQs

Do hair loss treatments cure baldness?

Hair restoration treatments are not for baldness, but for improving hair thickness. Activated platelets and growth factors found in blood plasma stimulate the regrowth of the follicular bulb (hair root), thereby reversing the miniaturization of hair follicles that is associated with hair loss. As a result of the treatment, hair is expected to become thicker and healthier.

WHAT KIND OF RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FOR HAIR THICKENING?

On average, hair regrowth density of 25 to 30% can be expected, but results will vary as a function of the ability of the follicular bulb to regenerate in each individual. All progress is photographically tracked and reviewed together.

In one study, results showed a significant increase in the rate of hair growth observed between the third and sixth months. Hair density followed a rising trend with a peak at 3 months. Patients with II-III grade of alopecia had better results compared to patients with more advanced alopecia.1
