HOW THE
TREATMENT WORKS
Excel V uses targeted laser energy to treat unwanted redness, visible blood vessels and pigmentation without damaging the surrounding skin. The laser is absorbed by the colour in the targeted vessel or pigmented spot, causing it to gradually break down and be naturally cleared by the body.
The technology uses two wavelengths to treat concerns at different depths. The 532 nm wavelength targets concerns closer to the skin’s surface, such as redness, broken capillaries and sunspots, while the 1064 nm wavelength reaches deeper vessels, including larger facial and leg veins.
Throughout treatment, a cooling tip helps protect the skin and keep you comfortable.
Step 1
Your provider evaluates your skin concerns, medical history, and treatment goals to determine whether Excel V™ laser treatment is appropriate for your skin and to create a personalized treatment plan.
Step 2
The treatment area is cleansed and protective eyewear is provided. Your provider selects the appropriate wavelength and settings for your skin and concern.
Step 3
Excel V's sapphire cooling tip cools and protects the skin before and during each laser pulse to improve comfort.
Step 4
The handpiece delivers precise pulses of laser energy to the targeted vessels or pigment. You may feel a brief warm or snapping sensation with each pulse.
Step 5
After the treatment, your provider gives you personalized aftercare instructions to help soothe the skin, support optimal recovery, and maximize your results.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
PREGNANCY
Excel V™ treatment is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
SKIN DISORDERS
Any active infection, inflammation, or open lesion in the treatment area should be resolved before treatment.
SUN EXPOSURE
Recent sun exposure or active tanning may increase skin sensitivity and the risk of unwanted pigmentation changes following treatment.
BLEEDING DISORDERS
Bleeding disorders or a history of abnormal clotting may make Excel V unsuitable or require additional medical assessment.
