WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER A CONTOUR TRL™ LASER TREATMENT?

Immediately after treatment, your skin will appear red and feel tight and warm, similar to a significant sunburn. Swelling, along with a bronzed or glazed appearance, is also expected and typically peaks within the first 48 hours. Over the following 5 to 7 days, the treated skin will gradually peel as damaged layers are replaced by healthy new skin.

Proper aftercare is essential for optimal healing. Your provider will recommend gentle vinegar soaks several times a day, followed by the application of a healing ointment to keep the skin moisturized and protected. You will also receive detailed instructions on cleansing, skincare products, and how to minimize irritation throughout the recovery process.

Makeup can generally be applied about one week after treatment, once the skin has fully re-epithelialized. Sun exposure should be avoided during healing and for several weeks afterward. Daily use of a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher is essential to protect the treated skin and reduce the risk of pigmentation changes.

Recovery varies depending on the depth of the treatment, but most patients are able to resume their normal routine within 10 to 14 days. Skin quality will continue to improve over the following months as new collagen is produced.
